Looking for antiques and great finds on your Smoky Mountain getaway?

We are big fans of the well-curated, diverse collections found in antique shops. Now when we say “antiques,” we’re not talking thousand dollar rare collectibles. We’re talking good ‘ole “junkin’.”

You’ll be hard-pressed to find antique stores in Gatlinburg proper, but the great proximity of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg are a win for guests yet again!

Here is our top choice in the Smoky Mountains:

Yesterday Antiques

Jeffery & Georgia pick up items any way they can to stock Yesterday Antiques and Collectibles, but mostly from an annual trip to upstate New York.

Our first stop at Yesterday Antiques was unsuccessful. A few minutes after 4 on a Tuesday afternoon, the shop was closed. Truth be told, we had spent too long at the shop down the street and missed our window of opportunity. But I’m glad we came back!

When owners Jeffery and Georgia “retired” to Tennessee, they opened Yesterday Antiques and Collectibles. In an old house right on Wears Valley Road, the couple open their shop from 10-4 every day (10-5 on Saturday).

This little shop had all sorts of great finds in an old house. Much more unique than a strip mall, you can tell Jeffery and Georgia curate the shop with an eye toward getting some of everything. Their website says their inventory includes “fresh, authentic, clean, good quality antiques and collectibles.” I wouldn’t argue.

A Close Second

When we first set out to check out the local antique scene, I joked about heading toward “antique row.” Wears Valley Road has a couple good shops to peruse, and the Antique Mall Pigeon Forge is another good find.

Antique Mall Pigeon Forge is a vendor/booth-based antique shop, so around every corner you’ll find something new. They even have a good, old fashioned diner inside so you can pick up some “patties and crinkles” while you’re shopping!
